Swim Equipment
Training
Swimmers should have the following Swim Equipment at all training sessions:
- Water bottle
- Kick board - available from Sporting Billy.
- Pull buoy - available from Club - £10.
- Training fins - there are many different makes of fins, with swimmers having individual preferences. We would recommend that the fins are the shorter blade. Maru are a popular choice.
- Kit bag - available from Sporting Billy.
Please ensure that all kit is clearly named.
Some of the Kit is available from Sporting Billy in Chippenham (https://sportingbilly.com/collections/malmesbury-marlins-asc) but equipment can also be picked up second hand on EBay or Vinted, or via other shops/outlets.
If you visit our Club Shop at Sporting Billy (https://sportingbilly.com/collections/malmesbury-marlins-asc) you will also be able to view our extensive range of Club Clothing. We do have a number of second-hand hoodies that are available - all we ask is a donation to club funds. If you are interested in second-hand kit, then we can let you have a look at what we have in our locker, just let a coach know.
Competition
When attending an Open Meet or Team Gala, swimmers should ensure that they are equipped with the following items:
- Swim Costume, hat and goggles.
- Towel.
- Water bottles - it is really easy to get dehydrated when sitting poolside.
- Snacks - no nuts please. Whilst Haribos (other sweets are available) are viewed by many as essential swimming snacks, it is good to have a range of snacks, not just high sugar ones, which give an instant energy hit, but will not sustain a swimmer for very long.
- A Marlins or other red quick drying top to wear between races.
- A big smile and lots of cheering
